Job description

As a Mechanical Site Supervisor in the water sector, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the mechanical aspects of our water infrastructure projects. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and strong problem-solving abilities will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects while adhering to high-quality standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical technicians and tradespeople on-site, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Project Oversight: Coordinate and oversee all mechanical activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budget constraints, and quality standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance and support in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, pumps, pipelines, and related equipment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical activities within the broader project scope.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and inspect work progress to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that may arise during construction, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work activities, equipment maintenance, and project milestones, contributing to comprehensive project documentation.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a strong safety culture on-site, identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with relevant safety regulations.

What the client needs from you:

  • Clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning experience.
  • Capable of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes.
  • The mechanical supervisor is responsible for the installation supervision and to support/assist with commissioning of mechanical equipment.
  • The mechanical supervisor will be responsible for equipment alignment checks, pressure testing and other mechanical quality assurance issues on site.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification, Site supervisors' qualification, CSCS card.
  • Water industry experience from a main contractor background - Essential.
