Position Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end management of rail infrastructure projects. Working closely with our dedicated team and external stakeholders, you will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. Your role will contribute to the growth and success of our SME as we continue to make strides in the rail industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of rail infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure project alignment and success.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimise project efficiency.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure construction quality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Facilitate effective communication and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges and finding solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Prepare and present project updates, status reports, and performance metrics to management.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture within the project team and across the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or similar role, preferably in an SME environment.
- Strong understanding of rail environment, project management principles, and industry regulations.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and priorities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- APM certification or equivalent project management credentials are a plus.
