My Client is recruiting for a Contracts Manager in the Water Sector

The Contracts Manager ensures delivery excellence and safely whilst remaining within budget.

The role covers project management, field operations, supply chains and contractors ensuring a "right first time" approach to all allocated projects including but not limited to, Planning, quality control, mitigating risk and ensuring satisfied clients is a pre-requisite.

"No one gets hurt" mandate is inherent in all that occurs.

The Contracts Manager focus is to ensure all allocated work is completed on time, to plan, at the agreed costs, with the technology operating as specified.

Role and responsibilities:

  • To manage the supply chain to ensure materials, plant and equipment is sourced to specification, is operating as required, arrives on time and is used safely and effectively.
  • To ensure contractors and employees working on our behalf across the world are safe, working to plan and budget, and delight our clients.
  • To interact with all internal agents to ensure all pre and post operational work is commensurate with the requirements that allow operations to be completed safely and effectively.
  • To oversee all external agents, including contractors and suppliers to ensure all pre and post operational work is commensurate with the requirements that allow operations to be completed safely and effectively.
  • Management of own and subordinates time to agreed targets such that effort is efficiently spent.
  • To direct, review and monitor the production, tracking and reporting of the project programme.
  • To manage, promote and maintain Company's relationship with the client by means of meetings, correspondences and other various modes of communications.
  • To direct to the site team in delivering Company's scope of work in accordance with the Company's scope of work, budget and within the agreed project programme.
  • To manage Company's subcontractors and suppliers including reviewing scope of work, authorising orders/subcontracts, approving invoices, monitoring performance and authorising variations.
  • To provide regular updates to Senior Management about the progress of allocated tenders/projects and their status in view of the programme, budget and risk.
  • To review all ongoing and previous projects to seek improvements in safety, cost management, client relationships and process through "best practice" and improved systems of work.
  • To ensure staff welfare, morale and loyalty and commitment to the company are maintained.
  • Ensure high ethical and professional behaviours and actions are maintained.
  • To assist with the creation and development of project management procedures.
  • To assist the Operations Director in the management and development of the project management team.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Managing wastewater industry field operations.
  • Good technical knowledge of field operations, methods of work, risk management in the water industry
  • Management Experience in leading a team of professional project managers and engineers
  • Financial acumen, especially project budgetary control
  • Planning and programming.
  • Supervision, client relationships, supply chain management and control methods of process chains.
  • Site construction experience.
  • Relevant water industry technical qualifications
  • Management qualifications and certified training
  • Relevant safety training certificates
  • Certificates of formal training covering Water Pollution Control Technology and wastewater treatment.
