Field Service Engineer - South
Location: near Heathrow, London Airport and Stanstead Airports
Hours: 08:00am - 16:15 Monday - Thursday and 08:00 - 15:45 Friday
Our Client is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud. We offer a broad array of scanning system configurations that leverage low-, medium-, and high-energy X-ray technology-or multiple X-ray technologies-to address each customer's unique security application requirements.
Role Overview
The Field Service Engineer will install, maintain and service ADS (Advanced Diagnostic Systems) equipment sites and other Rapiscan systems equipment in the assigned area. Maintain and develop strong relationships with customer, distributor representatives, ensuring Customer Satisfaction at an international level and in UK as required.
The region will be covering Heathrow, London Airport and Stanstead Airports; the candidate will need to live within easy access to those sites, so within the M5 corridor would be good. They work remotely and will be on site for planned maintenance or when they are on call (one week a month) for emergencies. The role is fixing the baggage scanners and conveyor scanners.
Installation, repair and maintenance support of mainly the Rapiscan's ADS products in the UK & EMEA, with also support for the full range of the Checkpoint & Trace products.
- Installation and service support of Rapiscan's ADS products at customer's premises, primarily in the Southern area of England, but may include other locations throughout the UK and overseas.
- Routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of the Company's equipment at customer premises in the UK and EMEA.
- Provide out of hours standby cover as part of established teams.
- Carry out basic Operator and Technical training when required at customer premises.
- Carry out site surveys and advise customer on technical matters prior to installations.
- Learn the basics for the full range of the Checkpoint & Trace products, so assistance can be given to other teams.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Product Line Management and QA as part of our continuous improvement programme.
- Any other departmental ad-hoc duties when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous working in a customer facing environment would be beneficial.
- Electronics and Computer experience essential
- working knowledge of Microsoft office related programs.
