Job description

As the Project Engineer you will need to be able to demonstrate and extensive background in Permanent Way Engineering and worked on a number of large infrastructure projects.
Must have minimum of 5 years of railway experience working within maintenance, track renewals or permanent way projects. Role is office based Monday to Friday with requirement to work weekends on site. Due to workload there could also be midweek night shift working on particular projects.
Key skills, knowledge or competence are:
Work Package Plans
Be the technical lead and mentor engineers in the team
Review the designs for the work and ensure they fit the programme
Be available to go out on site and lead the site construction teams where necessary
Risk Management (highlight and mitigate as necessary), plus identify further opportunities through engineering excellence.
Monitoring and reporting progress to the project planner and submit reports both internally and externally
Critical Rail Temperature assessments
Win ALC tamping software (Matisa desirable)
Stressing
2D and 3D site control
Excavation & Reballasting
Trimble Business Centre (desirable)
