Job description
The Role
The Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (EMC) shall provide support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements and undertaking specialist testing of systems, sub systems and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Technical reports and specifications
- Functional System Diagrams
- System design evidence
- System Safety Justifications.
- Technical presentations
- System calculations, modelling and analysis
- Developing test procedures
- Attending factory acceptance tests
- Configuration and testing of equipment
Essential Skills:
- BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent.
- CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)
- Technical report writing skills.
- Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle.
- Knowledge and experience in defence standards whilst not essential would be an advantage.
- In depth understanding of electromagnetic compatibility testing and analysis.
Security Requirements: SC
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs).
