Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering department, providing technical support in the field of radiation detector physics and radiometrics.
- Technically support delivery of both internal and customer funded projects & products.
- Directly support resolution of project technical issues within Engineering.
- Work closely with project management and engineering teams to meet projects' technical requirements.
- Review and verification of technical reports, drawings and designs for safety, functionality and regulatory compliance.
- Support customer technical engagement, via sales/business development functions.
- To carry out all work ethically, safely and in accordance with the relevant standards and best practice within the nuclear industry.
- Any other relevant duties as and when required.
PhD in a relevant field, such as one of the following:
- Nuclear/Reactor Physics
- Nuclear Instrumentation
- Nuclear engineering
- Radiation Metrology
- Medical Physics
- Radiometry
- Particle Physics
- Ultra High Vacuum
General skills/qualifications:
- A higher level Physics/Applied Mathematics degree (Masters or equivalent level of experience in a scientific role).
- Good level of analytic and diagnostic skills.
- High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office incl. Excel & data analysis).
- Good presentation, oral and written communication skills.
- Able to make technically informed and balanced judgements.
Essential Functions:
- Flexibility for occasional travel within the UK and international
- Ability to obtain security clearance up to SC level at a minimum.
