Our Water company client are seeking an Engineering Manager to manage and oversee all design carried out on their reservoir project build in Havant.

Our client has embarked on a £339m project to build a reservoir at Havant Thicket. This environmentally led project will safeguard future water supplies and provide a place of natural beauty for the community to enjoy. The reservoir will provide wetland habitats, paths for walking, cycling, running and horse-riding, and a visitors' centre providing a café and educational resources for schools. The project will be mainly delivered through a main reservoir contract and two pipeline contracts, with some additional related contracts.

The candidate will work closely with colleagues in the core business, especially Operations, to secure their engagement, support and agreement with all solutions adopted.

The purpose of this role is to manage and oversee all design carried out on the project and ultimately facilitate the development of the detailed design of the reservoir project by the main works contractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the NEC Professional Services contracts with the Panel of Experts, Design Guardian and Construction Engineer.
• Manage the design review process for the approval of Designs Submissions by the main works contractors and involve the Panel of Experts and Design Guardian as required.
• Manage the response to Technical Queries raised by the main works contractors and involve the Panel of Experts and Design Guardian as required.
• Ensuring all Design Submissions and Technical Queries are responded to in accordance with timescales identified the Contract.
• Ensure that up to date information and data regarding clients existing assets are made available to the main works contractors
• Provide the lead on the technical aspects of other projects that will form part of the overall Havant Thicket Reservoir scheme.
• Take ownership of technical issues at a strategic level and champion recommended resolutions through the internal governance process.
• Work closely with colleagues in the core business, especially Operations, to secure their engagement, support and agreement with all solutions adopted.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering subject
• Chartered status
• Extensive experience and proven track record in the design, construction and commissioning of infrastructure projects in the UK Water Sector
• Proven experience of operating at a middle or senior management level in a client, contractor of consultant organisation

• Salary band £75k - £100k depending on previous experience
