Working: The role is office/hybrid based with occasional travel to other company/customer's sites in the UK or abroad.

Responsibilities:
- Direct project QHSE activities and providing leadership to promote a positive Quality and H&S culture within PMES.
- Responsible for the management, leading and coaching of team members defined as direct reports on the organisation chart.
- Ensure your team understand, demonstrate and adhere to the Company values at all times; providing support or redirection as required.
- Conduct annual appraisals with team members, setting objectives to ensure performance standards are met or improved.
- Conduct regular one to one meetings with team members to discuss workload, progress, training and development needs and address performance issues.
- Identify resource requirements and conduct interviews and assessments to ensure effective recruitment and selection processes.
- Identify training and development needs for staff and action training requests as required to expand their skills, aligning their needs with the business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Encourage the sharing and retention of knowledge and experience within the business through effective mentoring of team members and colleagues.
- Formulate effective succession plans and review regularly to ensure the skills and knowledge required to fulfil key roles are met through continuous training, development and mentoring in line with OSDP requirements.
- Drive continuous QHSE improvement throughout the organisation.
- Provide a project framework for managing QHSE - systems and standards.
- Liaise with all clients and suppliers on matters concerning QHSE.
- Oversee and supporting the activities undertaken by Marketing, Engineering & Operations during each project phase to ensure provision of an inherently safe design and reduce major accident risks.
- Ensure accident and incident Investigation.
- Monitor and supervise all actions related to health and safety, improve and update policy documents (H&S Manual)
- Chair the internal Health and Safety Committee (HSC) in the absence of VP Operations and provide it with timely feedback on the implementation of HSE recommendations.
- Coordinate Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001.
- Lead both compliance and risk based audits.
- Taking day-to-day responsibility for the Quality Management System (QMS) and work with the Management Team in the conformity, development and improvement of the QMS.
- Reduce internal and external defect rate.
- Proactively drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the QHSE system
- In addition, the job holder is required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required in support of the business.
Experience needed:
- Ideally qualified at degree level in engineering or equivalent in Quality and Health and Safety
- Quality Assurance experience within complex / bespoke engineered product environment.
- Proven track record of experience in Quality Management within a Contracting Company, preferably as a lead assessor and ideally significant experience of health and safety work.
- Good working knowledge of the current legislative and regulatory regime is essential.
- A strong QHSE experience including technical and leadership roles.
- Ability to synthesize information and identify key issues.
- Good supervision and management skills.
- Good working knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes
- Knowledge and experience of ISO standards.
- Knowledge and experience of appropriate international practice for Health and Safety
Desirable:
- Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
- Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the product safety regulations would be an advantage.
- Qualified within H&S, e.g. NEBOSH / IOSH certificate
- Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 9000 & ISO14000 and ISO 45001
- NEBOSH certification
