Overview

Working: The role is office/hybrid based with occasional travel to other company/customer's sites in the UK or abroad.

Responsibilities:

• The Senior Software Test Engineer will be accountable for supporting the development and maintenance of the CSS Software test strategy, testing quality framework, and test methodology.
• Have a good understanding of Software architectural and detailed design, using UML with Enterprise Architect and DOORS or Jama
• The Senior Software Test Engineer should have the ability to understand and use Requirements Analysis to support test design and planning.
• Be able to support management for the design and execution of business process tests, User Acceptance evaluations, Software and Systems trials, confidence tests.
• Software Test Planning and Elaboration
• Have a good understanding and direct use of Software Configuration and Build Management
• Have sonar domain knowledge, or similar signal processing intensive applications would be desirable, but training can be given

Experience needed:

• Ideally qualified to Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering or Mathematics or a relevant subject.
• Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices, methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Experience of the whole Software Development lifecycle
• An appreciation of Agile, Waterfall and V Model lifecycles

Desirable:

• Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
• Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
• ISEB Accreditation in Software Testing is desirable.
• Previous experience of using testing tools and Test Harness frameworks: Azure DevOps, Jira, Redmine, Jenkins would be desirable.
• A good working understanding of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Knowledge of GIT, SVN, Jenkins, Hudson would be desirable.
• Knowledge of C++, Linux, and Java would also be desirable.
