Job description
As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead a small engineering team responsible for testing in various areas, including production, research, qualification, and validation of new and existing aerospace products. Your role will encompass project management, technical expertise, and facility management, making you a pivotal part of our organisation. Occasional overnight travel may be required to support external testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead a small engineering team, overseeing their day-to-day activities and professional development.
- Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans and reports, ensuring clear documentation of test procedures and outcomes.
- Facility Management: Implement 5S deployment and Capex procedures for efficient facility operations.
- Testing Execution: Prepare, run, and report on tests for customers, including tooling and hardware design or acquisition.
- Facility Upgrades: Manage and execute facility and capability upgrades to stay at the forefront of aerospace testing technology.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate internal and external technical relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Safety and Documentation: Support the establishment of safe working practices and ensure the appropriate level of documentation is maintained.
- Health & Safety: Take a leadership role in maintaining health and safety standards for yourself and the department, complying with company Health & Safety requirements.
- Organisational Skills: Demonstrate strong organisational and team working skills to ensure efficient project execution.
Technical Skills:
- Test Environment Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a test environment within an engineering company.
- Report Writing: Proficient in writing detailed test plans, reports, and providing status and progress updates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading test engineering teams.
- Knowledge of aerospace testing standards and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
