Electrical Design Engineer
Job purpose:
The role involves using EPlan software to design and develop high value special purpose high voltage machinery predominantly for the automotive industry which support our exciting EV programme.
You will have the ability to run multiple concurrent medium-sized projects and undertake a client facing role in the development, design and co-ordination of engineering projects. The position will ideally suit someone who is currently working in a similar role who is prepared to work 'hands on'.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities
- Use of the EPlan (training will be given on EPlan)
- Create, update and modify existing designs
- Obtaining quotes and communicating with suppliers on technical issues
- Answering internal queries during manufacture, build and installation
- Preparing and maintaining documentation and records to a `Quality Operating System'
- Preparing and maintaining Excel documents for internal recording of items such as Drawing updates, issue decks, supplier specifications etc.
For success in this role you will need the following skills
- HNC or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience preferably with automotive industry experience.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or under their own initiative
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise own workload whilst working on multiple concurrent projects
