About the Role

As a Project Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day technical task management and cross-functional team coordination for Vehicle Development Projects. Reporting directly to the UK CEO, you will oversee internal engineering teams and communicate effectively with external project partners. Your project management responsibilities will include coordinating and completing projects on time, within budget, and scope. You will be responsible for all technical and engineering aspects, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and providing progress reports to upper management.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients to ensure deliverables meet the applicable scope and budget. This role requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or a related area. The ideal candidate should be familiar with various engineering concepts, practices, and procedures, relying on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Leadership skills, creativity, and latitude in decision-making are essential.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the engineering delivery of vehicle design and development projects.

- Ambassador for the company - outward facing hero and inward facing champion.

- Define and agree on technical requirements, timing, and resources with the UK CEO.

- Coordinate and facilitate day-to-day task management with internal cross-functional teams.

- Coordinate and facilitate day-to-day task management with external project partners.

- Develop and maintain a detailed Project Plan and other project-related documentation.

- Make technical decisions utilising your wealth of engineering leadership experience.

- Prepare progress reports/decks and define mitigation's when required.

- Support process, ways of working, and toolset development and implementation.

- Ensure all activities are compliant with relevant internal and external processes.

Skills and Experience:

The successful applicant will possess:

- Development experience in automotive project management and leadership skills.

- Engineering/Technical background with experience at an OEM or Tier 1 in product development.

- Passion for automotive, especially in the field of Autonomous & Zero Emission Vehicles.

- High competency in leading task delivery and working cross-functionally.

- Strong project management and planning skills.

- Strong technical and engineering skills, including knowledge of end-to-end vehicle engineering processes and acronyms (V Model, ASPICE, ECWVTA, DFMEA, FEA, CFD, DvP, etc.).

- Excellent communication and collaboration behaviors.

- Motivational management/leadership.

- Ability to scope, project manage, and deliver all aspects of vehicle development and delivery.

- Diplomacy, analytics, numeracy, organizational, and technical skills.

- Proficiency in IT toolchain (PLM, ERP, Microsoft Teams, Office, Task Management/Knowledge Management Software - JIRA/Confluence, etc.).

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) / AGILE / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
