Controls Technician

Role Overview:
The Electrical Controls Technician will play a key role in the production of large Electrical / Electronic scanning equipment. They will be part of a small team responsible for Installation testing fault finding and commissioning of complex hold baggage/parcel screening systems and associated matrix solutions, within a production environment.

This is your role
System electrical start up and system testing, following start-up/test procedures.
Setup, configure and test RTT image reconstruction and threat detection engine (SW&HW)
Setup, configure and test PLC code and HMI functionality.
Conduct Image Quality (IQ) machine configuration process
Support the development of relevant testing documentation and work instructions.
Assembly, configuration and fault finding of network/workstation solutions.
Support customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Work with QA to resolve any quality and supplier issues.

Qualifications and Experience
HNC and equivalent or 2-3 years of experience.
Experience in Electrical Installation Fault finding
Knowledge of PLC Controls - Allen Bradley with RS Logix is Preferred
Experience with IT Systems and reporting (Microsoft)
Strong analytical outlook, combined with good communication skills
Experience in Electrical / Electronics, fault finding on complex electrical panels and circuits with the ability to rework any faults found whilst adhering to the required procedures.
Experience or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban and CI methodology etc desirable
