Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Highways Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the, development, and delivery of a variety of highways capital projects within the Borough. From project inception through community engagement to the outline design phases, the Highways Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects within established time-lines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee the entire project life-cycle, from feasibility to implementation.
- Manage projects through community engagement and outline design phases.
- Assist in the management of larger-scale projects.
Educational Qualifications and Knowledge:
- A degree or equivalent, preferably in an engineering, transport, or project management field.
- In-depth experience in an appropriate field can be substituted for formal qualifications.
- Knowledge of local authority procedures and funding structures.
- Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cash flow monitoring.
- Knowledge of contemporary urban regeneration, design, environmental, and social policy issues.
- Proven experience in delivering complex capital projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
- Financial management skills, including estimating, budget preparation, and control.
- Experience in the highways or transport field.
- Successful track record of community engagement and consultation related to project delivery.
- Experience in managing consultants and contractors in the production of designs and associated materials in highways or other construction-related projects.
