Job description

The Highways Maintenance Team requires a Highways Drainage Engineer to provide support the team in the delivery of multi-location highway drainage investigation and repairs programme.
The primary role is to assist the team ensuring contract documentation is accurate and in accordance with current industry standards, support team members during the assessment of sections of carriageway drainage systems to ensure they are in good condition prior to resurfacing, liaison with client, public and local councillors.

Required Criteria:

• Technical skills relating to the design of highway maintenance drainage schemes.
• A working knowledge in creating scheme documentation.
• IT skills (e.g., MS Office suite) AutoCAD.

Desirable Criteria:

• A knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental processes.
• Full driving licence.
• Knowledge of Client liaison.
• A knowledge of New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004.

Responsibilities:
To assist Engineers in the delivery of multi-location highway drainage and surfacing repairs from initial site inspections through to completion of construction works.
To work as part of a collaborative team with the Client, Contractor, Local Communities and Utility organisation.
Assessment of CCTV footage to establish repair requirements and produce working documents to allow the repair of the systems prior to resurfacing.
