Job description
Outline of duties
To work on the shop floor carrying out a variety of general duties associated with the manufacturing of munitions within the Washington facility.
The Operator is a key position in with the responsibility for the production of munitions on the shop floor carrying out a variety of tasks in any of the areas of forming, machining, treatments and special machining. The job involves the ability to operate a variety of equipment from machinery to mobile work equipment and will include elements of manual handling in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures, quality standards and risk assessments.
Physical requirements
- Be able to stand for the shift (8.25 hours)
- Be able to walk approximately 2 kilometres during a shift
- Be able to remain in a seated position
- Be able to lift (maximum 25kg)
- Be able to carry objects
- Be able to push pull (e.g. trollies)
- Be able to reach overhead and reach below
- Be dextrous enough to enable use of tools and gauges
- Have use of feet to move controls on machinery or equipment. Controls include, but are not limited to, pedals, buttons, levers, and cranks.
- Be able to work in hot and cold environments
- Be able to wear PPE to undertake tasks
The Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in cnc machining, surface treatments or stores environments
