Job Description:-
You will be working as an Agent in the Heathrow team, and you will be responsible for a section(s) within Tranche 1 & 2 of the T2 Baggage Programme.
The role will require involvement on all stages of the project lifecycle, taking our clients expertise to enhance the Heathrow teams project capability from early investigations through to delivery and handover. The main focus will be on the site delivery elements and ensuring works are completed safely, to quality and schedule without impacting the Airport Operations. The role involves working closely with the end client, embracing the 'one team' approach aligning with their values and behaviours, delivering works on the site and interfacing with stakeholders.
Tranche 1 is comprised of the T1 building and services replacement works. The tranche includes the non-baggage asset replacement scope required to keep the T1 building safe and secure; and to protect the current T2A baggage operation until the new baggage system is operational.
Tranche 1 includes partial replacement of the T1 building fabric, services and the life safety systems that are necessary to maintain the performance of the existing baggage system and the ongoing access, egress and maintenance of T1.
Tranche 2 consists of the T1 Baggage Asset Replacement works. The Tranche is split into two workstreams. The first, T1 Welfare Enhancement, require the relocation and refurbishment of existing colleague welfare, offices and toilets.
The second workstream contains four baggage asset replacement projects. The scope comprises of the replacement of critical elements of the T1 baggage system that are at the end of their operational life with the aim of protecting baggage service levels until the new T2A Baggage system is operational in 2029.
Your role will be to ensure the options, scheme and production designs, for the work packages are delivered to schedule, meet the project requirements and comply with HAL's baggage and engineering requirements, processes, procedures and arrangements; as well as statutory requirements such as building regulations.
In addition, once the design phase is complete, you will be responsible for all project delivery aspects including procurement and delivery of the subcontracts.
You will support the establishment and then the ongoing adherence to the client quality management system, project controls framework, accountability for commercial and cost management, support of the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer process, procedures and arrangements.
You will lead a team of engineers and work with supervisors and be responsible for short term detail planning and task adherence (interlinked to the main P6 Schedule) to deliver the works, compliant to the design, securing stakeholder buy in, and ensuring appropriate work permits, RAMS and QA procedures are in place and adhered to. The role will involve liaison with the commercial and planning teams to optimise programme and delivery, taking opportunities and managing risks.
There will also be further future opportunities to support other schemes within the T2BP programme over the lifecycle of the T2BP.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the pre-construction and delivery work scope safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate and manage supplychain activities.
- Be responsible for the short term programming and sequencing of works aligned to the main programme.
- Able to manage and co-ordinate day and night shift works for effective programme delivery.
- Champion heath, safety, sustainability and environment by putting personal safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
- Proactively manage your packages to programme, identifying risks, opportunities and monitoring budget and liaising with the planner and relevant QS to manage your works.
- Ensuring permits, RAMS, QA documents are in place and completed as relevant to your works.
- Support and coach your engineers in the delivery of the works in your package.
- Drive efficiency and continual productivity improvements, creating best practise for the team and adding value for our customer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Building/Civil engineering qualification and practical delivery experience.
- Experience of working in and around M&E systems with permitting procedures
- Package management experience, including short term programming and budget monitoring.
- NEC Contract experience
- Able to support, coach and lead a team of engineers, supervisors and partners to achieve your teams tasks.
- Passionate about improving performance identifying opportunities to improve our quality and productivity through best practice, process improvements and continuous improvement practices.
- Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment.
- Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do.
- CSCS, SMSTS, Driving Licence
