Job description
Our Client is a leader in Engineering Manufacturing based near Bristol they ar looking for a a high-performing team lead Electrical Engineer to deliver product requirements and ensure Control and Coordination of the engineering design to meet specifications, ensuring cost-effective solutions that meet the prime cost & product requirements.
This lead engineer will make engineering decisions selecting the best solution to engineering problems, develop & motivate the engineering teams, be accountable for the system design and work together with the project leader in development of project plans to meet project deliverables
They will also support the NPI manager to ensure the team have the correct knowledge and identify training needs and identify risks and escalate to appropriate higher-level mitigation.
Key Responsibilities;
· Work with the project leader to understand and ensure plans are accurate accounting for engineering effort and skills set.
· Responsible for ensuring the engineering output meets the requirements as detailed in the project master specification
· Deliver the technical aspects of the product following the agreed specification.
· Guide consistency of engineering solutions across platforms and machine types
· Promote the use of new technologies and work with R&D teams (including IDA/Core Tech/Other technology centres and product companies)
· Champion modularity.
· Lead the system design intent, approve designs, calculations, and test specification.
Define, update, report on team performance.
· Preparation and organisation of engineering deliverables
· Support independent project peer reviews.
· Team coaching and supporting individual development
· Line management of direct reports
What you must have to apply and be considered;
A good Engineering or Scientific degree
· Experience of project coordination and management of teams
·· Experience of project governance/ methodology
· Ability to manage complex engineering task - a understanding of delivering engineered solutions, to specification and on budget.
· Technical/commercial awareness
· Passionate about quality and best practice
· Knowledge of process improvement
· Detailed knowledge of engineering principles and standards
· An attitude and desire to identify route causes implement long term corrective actions
Salary is 50-57K and 25 days holiday (plus BHs) based near Bristol
(can discuss hybrid to suit)
