Job description
Leading main contracting organisation seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience of working with the NEC (option A,B,C) form of contract and who has worked on major construction projects for a contract opportunity in Cambridge.
This position will see you work on a major construction project in Cambridge.
Responsibilities:
- You will update cost forecast on a weekly and monthly basis and update of project resource histograms.
- You will ensure that the forecast reflects programme changes each period and ensuring trend register is maintained for any forecast fluctuations.
- You will ensure rates and pricing is current and in line with project orders and costs.
- Preparation and production of monthly cost value reconciliation in line with company procedures.
- Pricing and administration of change management under the Main Contract and Subcontracts.
- Administration and use of the Contractors costing system (Microsoft D365).
- Identifying risks and opportunities in the administration of commercial processes upstream and downstream.
- Reporting into the Project Commercial Manager and assisting in any other tasks as required by the Commercial Manager.
- You will assist in preparation of Monthly Main Contract Application for Payment to Client by way of provision of Defined cost forecast each period.
- You will assist in preparation of 'Bottom Up Forecast' where required (usually on a 3-6monthly basis).
- You will be responsible for monitoring of planned vs actual cost across disciplines (Labour, Plant, Material, and Subcontract).
- Timely issue of contractual notices under the project and issue of quotations and subsequent agreement of final accounts.
To be considered for the role candidates will have:
- You have effectively driven success with previous projects and have a fantastic reputation that backs up what you have achieved over the years.
- You will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying
- You will have excellent understanding and use of Microsoft excel and formula is critical.
- Experience working across civils or infrastructure projects i.e. desirable projects: Crossrail, Thames Tideway, Tunnelling, Railway, etc.
- NEC 3 2013 experience
