Highways Project Manager on a long-term contract basis. Specifically working on project managing the delivery of major projects through design phase.

Job description

As the PM you will be the client's representative managing works activities and co-ordinating, managing and reporting on the delivery of large scale improvment and infrastructure works by contractor and other service providers.

• Act as the key client contact and decision maker with regards to key large scale improvement schemes and major schemes.

• Work closely with our highways contractor and professional services provider to ensure safe and sustainable working practices are adopted on all construction activities.

• Manage the financial and commercial aspects of Major Project works alongside our Professional Services Provider.

• Be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the procurement of major works schemes following current procurement guidelines and NEC4 contractual arrangements.

• Take the leading officer role during major scheme consultation exercises and project manage the consultation(s) to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved.

Experience

• Experience in all aspects of highway construction work.
• Previous experience in managing and delivering the construction of major highway works
• Previous experience project managing large scale highway works.

Knowledge, Skills and Understanding

• A thorough working knowledge of the highway construction and design standards
• A thorough working knowledge of engineering contract arrangements including NEC4
• An extensive knowledge of traffic management, traffic calming, road safety and other highway improvement design principals.
