Job description
Matchetech are seeking Electrical Engineering candidates on behalf of a key client to work in Prince Edward Island.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Engineering and/or the Superintendent, Protection, Control, and Planning, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing the planning, construction, organizing, budgeting, management, and maintenance of engineering projects aimed at improving the reliability of the transmission and distribution system.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following:
- Participate in design, installation and integration of the intelligent electronic devices, telecommunications systems and SCADA. Ensure that this infrastructure has been installed, maintained and operated using accepted industry standards and
- Participate in protection coordination, control and commissioning on the transmission and distribution
- Provide engineering design and construction for new substations or upgrade to existing substations using strong project management and interpersonal
- Provide technical asset support to the Technical Services maintenance
- Coordinating and supervising projects, preparing project cost estimates, contract preparation, design and implementation and project
- Participate in distribution planning
- Participate in development of company standards and
- Participate in the integration of wind and solar
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and is eligible for registration with Engineers PEI. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
The ideal candidate will have the skills and knowledge including but not limited to:
- Organizational skills, problem solving, work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to effectively communicate plans, directives and objectives.
- Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software.
- Ability to use CAD systems and drawing standards.
- Working knowledge and effective use of computer programs, such as spreadsheets, word processors, and power point.
