Job description
Western District Line Superintendent
Prince Edward Island
Permanent position
Reporting to the Sr. Superintendent, Operations & Project Delivery, the Western District Line Superintendent is responsible for the overall execution, planning, organizing, and scheduling of line work in the Western District.
The position is dedicated to providing superior customer service.
Supervision includes:
- the District Supervisor, Power Line Forepersons, Power Line Technicians, Apprentices, and District Area Representative.
- Work includes the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of the company's electrical system.
The position involves:
- Budgeting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and execution of work in the Western District.
- The role requires structured crew visits and work observations to ensure crews are working safely, productively, efficiently, and that approved work methods are being followed.
- The position requires the understanding of a body of knowledge comparable to that acquired in an academic field of study (typically a college or university degree or equivalent) or ten or more years of directly related work experience in the power line trade.
Requirements
- A degree in the Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field.
- Work experience with transmission and distribution systems is desirable
- a Red Seal Power Line Technician certification is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience is required, preferably in power line work, with consistently demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills, and leadership ability.
This position requires that the incumbent be available on short notice to respond to emergency outages or other events in the district where work may be required beyond regular work hours.
