My Client is recruiting for a Associate EICA Engineer / Design Manager in the Water Sector
Our Client have an extensive portfolio of UK, Overseas and Globally delivered projects, helping our clients address asset creation, process improvement and plant optimisation needs. Their locally focused teams incorporate expert electrical, ICA, process, mechanical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving clients' problems in innovating, creative, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.
EICA projects we carry out involve some of the following discipline items, including:
- LV (and HV) power systems, motor control centres, process instrumentation, process automation and state of the art control systems.
- Electrical systems modelling.
- DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety.
- Using intelligent P&IDs, 3D designs, plant visualization and virtual reality techniques.
- Power systems analysis software.
- Using our own suite of intelligent design schedules and MCC design tool.
Responsibilities (will vary depending on project and client):
- Asset surveys and assessments, using cutting-edge technologies and techniques as appropriate.
- Feasibility, outline and detailed electrical and ICA design work (transformers, generators, LVSB, MCC, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, telemetry etc.) including equipment and system specifications, design schedules, drawings: SLDs, BCDs, earthing, systems architecture diagrams, user requirement specifications (URS/FDS), technical design risk assessments, P&IDs, cost and programme estimations.
- Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Liaison with clients within the UK and worldwide.
- Support and/or lead bids, fee proposals or offers of service; development of activity schedules/work plans.
- Delivering projects as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-location, multi-party teams.
- Preparing profile-raising material such as technical papers and presentations to conferences, staff and clients.
- Support technical and 'expert witness' investigations and appraisals.
- Supporting and technically developing less experienced colleagues.
- Contributing to new innovative ideas/ making suggestions for innovation.
- Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences.
- Working with and developing new automated digital design tools.
Role requirements:

- Degree-qualified with an Electrical or ICA bias; ideally a chartered Member of a recognised engineering institution.
- You will be positive and enthusiastic, a confident communicator at all levels, and a team player.
- You will have a keen interest in the water/wastewater industry and will ideally have already spent a proportion of your career in the water or a related similar industry that can be applied.
- You will have a blend of leadership and technical expertise.
- You will have experience of managing and mentor teams and/or individuals and/or projects, potentially split across disciplines and locations.
- A developing external profile and reputation; a desire and willingness to raise the profile of oneself and the Company.
- Willingness to contribute to and develop our technical knowledge networks.
