Job description

Introduction

Our client, a leading construction company in the rail industry, is seeking a talented Rail Programme Director to join their Infrastructure division. This permanent position can be based in either Doncaster or Birmingham, and offers an exciting opportunity to work on major rail projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of customer, stakeholder, and supply chain relationships.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and oversee financial outcomes.
  • Establish project execution plans and manage their implementation.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers responsible for large-scale multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Liaise and collaborate with senior stakeholders including Customer Project Directors or equivalent.
  • Develop commercial strategies in alignment with business targets.
  • Conduct regular project reviews encompassing all aspects of project delivery from financials to health & safety considerations.
  • Identify future work opportunities through relationship building with customers, suppliers, and industry peers.

Job Requirements

  • Proven Programme or Project Management experience at a senior level with evidence of delivering multi-disciplinary Infrastructure Projects.
  • Civil Engineering background is essential.
  • Experience of project managing Rail projects over £100m.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contract law, civil engineering techniques, procurement processes, planning, and statutory processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience of leading teams and delivering with inclusion at all times.
  • Strong customer/client focus with exceptional relationship management abilities.
