Job description

Introduction

Our client BAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Detail Designer - Layouts to join their team. This is a contract position with a duration of 12 months. As a Detail Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and layout of naval ships, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs and layouts for naval ships, considering technical requirements and safety regulations
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and draughtsmen to develop innovative solutions
• Utilize software tools and 3D modelling techniques to produce accurate and high-quality designs
• Ensure that all designs adhere to project schedules and budget constraints
• Review and revise designs based on feedback and input from stakeholders
• Work closely with clients and suppliers to address any design-related issues or concerns

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in detail design and layouts, preferably within the naval shipbuilding industry
• Proficiency in using design software and 3D modelling tools
• Strong understanding of technical requirements and safety regulations in the Defence & Security sector
• HNC/HND qualification in a relevant field
• Experience with Foran software or other 3D modelling tools for shipbuilding
