Job description
Our client, a leading company in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Flood Risk to join their team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management and implementation of highway traffic and transportation development control/development schemes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Duties
- Undertake surveys, investigations, and safety audits, analyzing data and results related to the section's programmes of work.
- Carry out feasibility studies, prepare estimates, project plans, and reports, assisting in the preparation of service plans for submission to service management.
- Design schemes and systems in compliance with current standards, guidance, and Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) regulations.
- Evaluate infrastructure design and construction proposals submitted by developers/contractors and other third parties.
- Prepare briefs and assist in the supervision and management of consultants undertaking contracted work on behalf of the company.
- Consult and liaise with elected Members, partner organizations, stakeholders, and the public regarding the service.
- Facilitate effective coordination of schemes and programs of work with a cross-boundary/City Region reach through close collaboration with internal and external colleagues.
- Provide advice and respond to enquiries related to the service's and third-party programs of work.
- Manage the procurement of works and services in accordance with legislation and the company's standing orders, systems, and procedures, including budget monitoring and control.
- Supervise scheme implementation/construction, including contract administration, payments, and settlement of accounts as required.
