Job description


Our client, a leading Consulting Engineers firm, is seeking an Associate Engineer specialising in Civils/Structures/Geotechnical for a permanent position. With extensive experience in rail infrastructure projects, the company has been at the forefront of the industry for 40 years, with the last 26 years dedicated to rail projects. This opportunity offers the chance to work on various rail civils and structural design projects, contributing to the ongoing development of the rail sector.

Offices


Glasgow, Hartlepool, Brighouse, Sheffield, Warwick, Amersham & Bristol
Your role will involve working on rail projects, specialising in civils and structures, with a particular focus on structural design and geotechnical work. You will contribute to the successful delivery of rail infrastructure projects, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards and specifications. In addition, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake structural design work within rail civil projects
  • Contribute to the development of design documentation, including calculations, reports, and drawings
  • Provide technical expertise and support during all project stages
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as required
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in structural design within the rail civils sector
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and structural analysis software
  • Knowledge of rail industry standards and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
