Job description

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer specialized in Java to join our client, a consulting firm that specialises in Data projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP), a good understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, Kubernetes, etc.), and a plus would be to have experience in Python and knowledge/interest in Data projects (such as machine learning, NLP, and image recognition). This person will be part of the Data team, working on an international project for a Swiss insurance company.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software applications using Java, with Python as a secondary language, for cloud-based solutions (primarily on Azure).
• Collaborate with the Data team to create new functionalities and maintain existing ones for the client's applications.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines in a DevOps environment. Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Software Developer with a focus on Java.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Experience in DevOps environments, including CI/CD and Kubernetes.
• Fluent in English (at least a B2).
• Nice to have experience with Python.
• Nice to have knowledge or interest in data projects (data science, machine learning, NLP, and image recognition).
