Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client BAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security industry, is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position based in Christchurch, with a duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks to design and develop mechanical hardware components
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project requirements and specifications
• Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to validate design performance and functionality
• Create and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for improvements
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and recommend innovative solutions
• Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality designs within set deadlines

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
• Qualification in mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
