Job description
Matchtech are working with a key client to support the recruitment of a Senior EcoSys Application Specialist in Toronto. This role requires in office working, hybrid and remote working is not provided for this role.
Description:
The Sr. Applications Specialist collaborates with the client to install, administer, configure, update, maintain, and integrate EcoSys project controls software.
- Determines client's objectives and needs by reviewing business functions; interviewing personnel; leading small group workshops; gathering information; and evaluating requirements.
- Designs, configures, implements and tests solutions by analyzing requirements; planning work via agile stories and sprints; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying client system capabilities; writing specifications and estimating both initial work and changes.
- Maintains application strategy and roadmap, including both business and technical considerations and stakeholders.
- Serves as a bridge between business and other technical SMEs, working to direct and support the execution of prioritized business needs, including supporting system and data integration needs.
- Improves solutions and maximizes business value by studying client current practices; designing modifications, use cases, and requirement documents, and by suggesting best practices.
- Writes and updates procedures, handbooks, and/or job-aids.
- Provides ongoing support to multiple environments, including Dev, QA, and Production.
- Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
- Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Applies analytical and technical thinking within areas of assigned responsibility to resolve routine client issues and challenges by identifying possible alternatives, and providing and implementing recommendations.
- Leads application testing activities, including creating scripts and materials; supports and performs unit, system and integrated testing tasks.
- Works with training team to develop training curriculums and materials and conducts training classes for client.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Overall, enhances, administers, and supports EcoSys application.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or related field
- Minimum 2 years' implementation and configuration of EcoSys
- Minimum 4 years' implementation and configuration of Enterprise Project Controls Software
- Understanding of software implementation methodologies (waterfall, iterative and incremental)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to legally work in Canada and obtain Nuclear Facility security clearance
Preferred:
- Minimum 2 years' experience with construction project controls work
- Minimum 2 years' work in construction industry
