Job Overview

We are seeking skilled DevOps Engineers to join our central government client to join a dynamic and innovative team driving the future of biometric services. As we expand our capabilities and prepare for a significant increase in biometric traffic due to the worldwide rollout of Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) in 2024, we need your expertise to enhance our deployment and infrastructure processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support the BIP application, focusing on deployments and infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate closely with development and product teams to identify risks and issues aligned with the product roadmap.
• Contribute to the identification and mitigation of risks and issues within the wider biometrics service.
• Support and develop the service as part of a SAS product-centric team.
• Mentor and teach Junior DevOps engineers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
• Ensure performance and security requirements are met and exceeded

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Programming/Scripting Languages: Proficient in developing code or scripts for automation and consistent deployment patterns.
• Cloud and Containerization: Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Concourse/Jenkins, Vault, and modern monitoring tooling systems.
• DevOps Toolchains: Skilled in engineering and maintaining DevOps toolchains to support secure and highly resilient services.
• Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in developing designs, coding, and testing infrastructure as code and continuous improvement pipelines.
• Platform Tooling Solutions: Ability to build and install new platform tooling solutions, such as monitoring, secret management, and service discovery solutions, following industry best practices.
• Agile Environment: Experience working in an agile software development environment, including iterative design, planning, and improvement.
