Bid Manager (Comms & M&E Rail)
Overall Responsibility:
Will play a critical role by overseeing the end-to-end tendering process. This position involves managing bid submissions, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring the highest quality of proposals. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the tender database, optimising bid plans, and enhancing our bid collateral library.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the tender database with relevant information.
Monitor client procurement portals for new opportunities.
Bid Decision Review:
Evaluate bid opportunities and provide bid/no-bid recommendations.
Collaborate with stakeholders to make informed decisions.
Bid Planning and Execution:
Develop and manage bid plans to maximise scoring against criteria.
Write compelling bids that align with client requirements.
Commercial Terms and Conditions:
Review and negotiate commercial terms during the tender stage.
Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Communication and Updates:
Communicate mid-tender updates to relevant teams.
Arrange pre-submission bid review meetings with Directors.
Post-Tender Activities:
Debrief with customers after bid submissions.
Facilitate handover processes upon successful contract award.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Assist with internal and external audits related to tender processes.
Maintain awareness of basic HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) and sustainability practices.
Collateral Library and Presentations:
Keep the bid collateral library up to date.
Create company promotional presentations as needed.
Performance Reporting:
Provide periodic reports on bid team performance.
Collaborate with team members to manage leave and absence impacts.
