Job description

Our client, one of the UK's leading independent consultancies, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role involves providing design expertise and support on a varied range of schemes, from small highway improvements to large residential and commercial developments. This position represents an excellent opportunity to help develop a strategically important sector of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing infrastructure for both major and minor commercial and residential developments
• Creating designs from appraisal stage through to planning and detailed design of infrastructure, external works, and drainage
• Applying knowledge of highway and drainage design standards
• Utilising relevant software packages including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Site3D, and Micro Drainage
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of Health and Safety practices, including CDM
• Managing time effectively and maintaining accurate records

Job Requirements:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification
• Relevant post-graduate experience within a consultancy environment
• Good knowledge of both highway and drainage design
• Experience with highway design standards such as Local Highway Authority, Manual for Streets, LTN1/20, and DMRB
• Experience with drainage design standards such as Sewers for Adoption, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Code of Adoption Agreement, and The SuDS Manual (CIRIA C753)
• Proficiency in software packages including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Site3D, and Micro Drainage
• Strong organisational skills and an understanding of standard engineering practices
• Excellent time management abilities
