Job description

Our client, a leading company in the water business sector, is seeking a Process Design Engineer or Senior Process Design Engineer to join their team. This permanent role offers the flexibility of remote working, preferably near Southern Water or UU (United Utilities).

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing detailed process designs for water treatment systems
• Conducting process engineering assessments and optimisations
• Collaborating with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project execution
• Generating detailed process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Providing technical support during project implementation and commissioning phases
• Ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards
• Engaging with stakeholders, including Southern Water and UU, to ensure alignment with their requirements
• Continuously enhancing process design methodologies and practices

Job Requirements:

• Experience in process engineering and process design within the water industry
• Proficiency in developing and optimising process designs
• Understanding of water treatment systems and related engineering principles
• Experience working with stakeholders such as Southern Water or UU, ideally with background in MWH
• Relevant degree in Chemical Engineering or similar; working towards chartership is desirable
• Experience in the UK water sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
