Job description

Our client, a key player in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to join their team in Preston for a 12-month contract. This is a Hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in the office per week. As part of the Shared Services Business Unit, you will be integral to the successful delivery of high-standard engineering projects within the defence and security industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and implementing mechanical and electrical systems for building services
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met efficiently
• Conducting assessments and validations of systems to ensure they adhere to industry standards
• Overseeing the installation and testing of mechanical/electrical equipment on-site
• Providing technical support and guidance to the project teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Creating detailed technical reports and documentation
• Ensuring all engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

Job Requirements:

• 5 years experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, specifically within building services
• Proficiency in engineering design software and tools
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
