Job description
Our Water construction client are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team working on their Severn Trent framework out of Wanlip, Leicestershire.
The role will be based across home, office (Solihull) and Severn Trent Water sites.
Responsibilities
As a Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Natural Resources team supporting the commercial team in managing the commercial aspects of schemes between £5m-£20m in value on resilience and upgrades work to both clean and dirty water treatment plants. The initial focus will be supporting delivery of ECI phase 2 and the development and upgrades of a wastewater treatment work site with packages in value of circa £100-£125m.
- Assisting with the control of costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and maintaining the required standard of quality and safety
- Working within the project teams liaising with the Commercial Lead, Project Engineers, Procurement Coordinators, Planners, Site Team Leaders and Site Managers.
- Assisting in improving cost efficiency and creating an environment of out-performance.
- Assisting in the procurement of subcontractors in line with our commercial standards, ensuring best value for Kier and our client
- Assist in the accurate monthly and quarterly forecasting
Skills/experience/qualifications
- You hold a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- Experience working with complex civil projects within the water industry.
- NEC3/4 experience an advantage
- Our client may consider applications from industries such as Utilities/Highways
