Job description
Our client, a leader in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking two Firestopping Engineers to join their team on a contract basis. This exciting role involves working autonomously and offering substantial expertise in fire safety design and retrospective fire strategies. The successful candidates will also undertake third-party reviews and design verification in line with fire safety standards, providing top-tier fire consultancy technical advice and services to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing fire strategies and conducting design reviews for new projects and refurbishments
- Creating retrospective fire safety strategies for existing structures
- Performing third-party review and design verification against fire safety standards
- Providing fire technical and management advice and services to clients
- Ensuring compliance with UK and EU fire safety legislation and standards
- Maintaining excellent client liaison and communication
- Operating with high IT proficiency to enhance project delivery
- Managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring all deliverables are met
Job Requirements:
- Experience in fire safety consultancy, preferably within the nuclear sector
- Strong understanding of UK and EU fire safety legislation and standards
- Proficiency in developing fire strategies and conducting design reviews
- Excellent client communication and liaison skills
- Experience in third-party review and design verification
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a related H&S, design, or engineering discipline
- Desirable: Registration with a UKAS accredited organisation or professional body such as the Institution of Fire Engineers
- Desirable: Membership of IFE, IFSM, or IEng status
