Job description


Our client, a leading company in the renewables sector, is currently seeking a Project Technical Manager with expertise in Floating Wind to join their team in South West London. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project engineering organisation charts and staff engineering roles with the Head of Department
  • Review and ensure correct application of contractual and technological requirements throughout all project phases
  • Develop and maintain the skills, know-how, and methods for relevant technologies while implementing appropriate training plans
  • Supervise the finalisation of engineering plans and schedules, including managing detail engineering outsourcing
  • Induct and brief the engineering team on contract and project requirements
  • Participate in risk management and other reviews with engineering concerns
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and manage external engineering centres or companies involved in the project
  • Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination and consistency of design solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a busy office environment, ideally within a manufacturing or similar sector
  • Confidence to attend and chair vendor meetings following training
  • Strong ability to supervise and make technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines
  • Competence in managing project cost and time schedules, with an ability to implement mitigation measures when necessary
  • Excellent coordination skills for engineering deliverables and document management
  • Ability to support Project Managers with technical expertise, variations requests, and change orders
  • Commitment to identifying and implementing lessons learned to improve plant performance
  • Understanding of the engineering activities required to support the material and construction procurement processes
