Job description

This permanent position offers the chance to contribute to significant projects within the Essex, focusing on analysis and design of bridge and retaining wall structures in reinforced concrete and steel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, design, plan, and programme highway structures works and services
• Provide clear and effective project leadership
• Assist in the management and monitoring of works programmes or services
• Mentor junior staff in the delivery of structural design and development of highway structures schemes
• Check other team members' work
• Assist the team leader in all relevant aspects and deputise in their absence
• Manage budgetary control and ensure financial management throughout areas of responsibility
• Prepare monthly progress reports and programme updates

Job Requirements:

• Experience in bridge engineering and structural design
• Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE or MIStructE
• Civil Engineering Degree/Masters or equivalent high-level qualification
• Knowledge of structural design codes, DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations and processes
• Self-motivated with good communication skills
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers and delivering highway structures projects
