Job description

Our client, a distinguished entity within the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Test Manager with UKIC DV Clearance to join their dynamic team in Cheltenham on a contractual basis. The role demands a professional who can lead the testing processes within a large joint programme for a secure Government client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside production and assurance teams to test the functionality, usability, and security aspects of products as they mature through production stages to released products.
• Managing test and other resources.
• Development of Test Strategies and specific Test Plans and schedules.
• Working closely with Project Managers and Engineers to understand and mitigate risk.
• Inputting into the development phase to identify issues early.
• Identifying problems in functionality, performance, quality, etc., and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Verification of functionality against user requirements, security requirements, and specifications.
• Liaising with end-users to ensure that the functionality and MMI (Man-Machine-Interface), where applicable, is intuitive and fit for purpose.
• Using industry best practice and specialist test tools as applicable.
• Preparing test reports in conjunction with technical assurance specialists and communicating the results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in test management within the Defence & Security sector.
• An analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Comfortable working as part of a programme or project team.
• Strong ability to lead and mentor a test team.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Understanding of industry best practices and the application of specialist test tools.
• UKIC DV Clearance is mandatory.
• Ability to work on-site in Cheltenham four days per week.
