Job summary
The role supports the highways team in managing projects various traffic schemes. It involves contributing to the Council's strategies and policies and leading the development of the Integrated Transport capital program.

Job description
- Lead and manage traffic engineering, civil engineering, public lighting, and traffic signals functions to meet performance standards and legislative requirements within budget.
- Assist in preparing, monitoring, and controlling Highways Services work programs, preparing external funding bids, and developing policies and strategies like the Local Transport Plan.
- Provide accurate and responsive service to other Council departments, officers, and external parties.
- Manage, develop, and allocate resources for Engineers, Technicians, and Trainees.
- Prepare contract documentation for procuring goods and services in line with Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
- Respond to inquiries, attend site visits and meetings with MPs, Councillors, consultants, partnership organizations, the public, and interest groups, and prepare necessary documents and data.
