Job description

Our client, a business specialising in the repair and service of turbochargers, has a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding dynamic company. This is a permanent role based in the Southampton area, with extensive international travel expected. The position involves substantial time away from home, making flexibility essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service and repair of turbochargers
• Working on turbochargers installed in a variety of places
• Minimising downtime by potentially working for sustained periods to meet customer needs
• Conducting tasks at the company's workshop and living within commuting distance

Job Requirements:

• Experience in marine engineering positions would be an advantage
• Experience working on turbochargers manufactured by ABB/Accelleron, MAN or MET
• Experience with new generation turbochargers (desired)
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Willingness to spend long periods away from home, including weekends
• Experience using measuring equipment and comparing results against expected data
• Excellent written and spoken English with report writing skills
• Holding a valid UK driving licence
