Job description
Our client, a leading organisation within the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Drainage Project Manager on a contract basis to take charge of crucial flood defence and drainage projects in collaboration with the Environment Agency. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in drainage to deliver projects that are essential for water management and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage and deliver Flood Defence Grant in Aid projects (FDGiA) working closely with the Environment Agency.
- Oversee specialist flood risk, drainage, and/or water quality projects as required under The Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
- Manage and monitor partnership contractual arrangements for drainage functions.
- Apply high-quality project and programme management standards across the entire project lifecycle.
- Advise on project cost, programme, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary professional teams.
- Lead communications and relationships with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Produce monthly reports including project programmes and risk registers.
- Implement effective and efficient communication tools.
- Develop delivery plans for projects, ensuring objectives are met.
- Constantly pursue performance improvement.
- Review and recommend amendments to designs and proposals by design partners and contractors.
- Provide drainage maintenance input into proposed schemes to improve the life cycle of assets through risk identification and mitigation.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in managing drainage projects.
- Strong knowledge of Flood Defence Grant in Aid projects and flood risk management.
- Understanding of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
- Proficiency in project and programme management practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to produce detailed project reports and documentation.
- Experience working with the Environment Agency and multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
