Location: Oakdale, Wales
Duration: 6 month contract
Rate: £520 p/day LTD (Outside IR35)
Role:
Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is seeking an experienced Network Architect/Engineer for a contract role in Oakdale. This opportunity involves the development, release, and maintenance of complex Tactical C4I systems utilising precise engineering disciplines to deliver customer-centric design services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate networking components and software to meet customer specifications
- Configure firewalls, routers, and dataguards for secure network traffic flow and optimal performance
- Ensure system implementation adheres to required safety architecture
- Document service and component configurations
- Support development teams in creating bespoke configuration management tools
- Liaise with third-party suppliers to secure optimal solutions
- Adhere to engineering processes across specification, design, development, and validation stages
Job Requirements:
- Experience in the design and delivery of Enterprise IT networks
- Understanding and experience in supporting and developing Tactical C4I Systems (knowledge of BCIP system is desirable)
- Familiarity with MOD/NATO Enterprise IT systems is beneficial
- Experience in Security/Cyber fields is advantageous
- Ability to read and generate designs using SysML
- Proficiency in creating structured technical documents and presentations with Microsoft Office
- Ability to review technical documents and provide constructive feedback
- Competency in using SharePoint for managing programme-related documentation efficiently
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional analytical, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of computer networking for issue resolution
- Experience with complex C4I systems/products on significant development programmes
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML/UML/System Modelling, etc.
