Job description
Our client, a prominent provider in the telecoms and rail communications industry, is currently seeking a Lead Telecoms Engineer (T&C) for a contract role. This position requires working on site in substations primarily located in the North West and Scotland, focusing on telecommunications systems used within the rail sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading teams of surveyors to conduct technical surveys and audits of telecommunication equipment and systems
- Working with various telecommunications technologies including routers, GSM, fibre, copper, radio, transmitters, and modems
- Ensuring all activities adhere to industry standards and safety regulations
- Coordinating on-site activities and managing substation access
- Providing technical guidance and support to team members
- Travelling and staying away as necessary to cover required regions
Job Requirements:
- Experience in radio frequency and telecommunications engineering
- Proficiency in radio communications within the telecoms sector
- Understanding of telecommunication systems and equipment, especially in a rail context
- Previous experience working in substations or on DNO network sites
- Substation access with relevant qualifications such as First Aid, CSCS, ECS, and EUSR
- Ability to lead and manage a team of surveyors
- Willingness to travel and stay away for project requirements
Contract Details:
- Contract role - £400+
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
- Location: North West and Scotland regions
