Job description
Our client, a prominent organisation in the HTP sector, is seeking an experienced UTC Traffic Signals Engineer for a contract role as a Principal Engineer in their busy UTC control centre. Liverpool Council oversees the management and maintenance of over 400 traffic signal systems using the Yunex UTC UX system, in addition to 60 VMS/CPG systems via Stratos, traffic signals queries, and HVM bollards. The role involves handling various traffic management responsibilities and maintaining smooth operations within the control centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing traffic signal faults through InView/UTC UX and ensuring timely repairs and temporary clearances
- Handling Bag and Switch Offs (BASO) management and invoicing processes
- Updating Stratos Strategy Manager for Liverpool FC and Everton FC to ensure signal timings change on match days
- Monitoring the network and making UTC plan changes, SCOOT changes, and hurry calls for incidents
- Maintaining bollards, managing bollard strikes, and addressing any bollard-related issues
- Validating and fine-tuning SCOOT networks
Job Requirements:
- Experience in traffic signal engineering, particularly with the UTC UX system
- Proficiency in managing traffic signals using UTC plan changes and SCOOT validation
- Understanding of Stratos for VMS/CPG system management
- Ability to handle traffic signal faults and manage the repairs via FMS
- Strong skills in network monitoring and executing UTC plan and SCOOT changes
- Competence in managing bollards and resolving related issues
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with complainants and resolving issues
- Flexibility in covering shifts within the control centre's operational hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and occasional weekends
