Job description


Our client, a well established organisation in the geographical areas they cover, is seeking two dedicated Building Control Surveyors to join their South Wales office. This permanent role offers the opportunity to support projects primarily in Cardiff, focusing on Class 2a-2d buildings. This role is ideal for those who wish to have control over their schedule, averaging five site visits daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with specific Class 2a-2d regulations
  • Evaluating and reporting on building control compliance during various stages of construction
  • Liaising with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to provide guidance on building control issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of site visits and inspections
  • Identifying and recommending necessary changes to ensure compliance with building regulations
  • Managing daily schedules and planning site visits efficiently
  • Providing expert advice and solutions to complex building control challenges
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to keep skills and knowledge up to date

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in building control or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and compliance, especially for Class 2a-2d structures
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess building quality and compliance accurately
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with project stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own diary
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Relevant qualifications in building control or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed inspection reports
