Job description

Our client, a leading company in the technology sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team on a permanent basis. This role is integral to the design and development of advanced mechanical systems within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing large, complex fabricated metal enclosures and mechanical assemblies
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design objectives are met
• Utilising SolidWorks to create and modify detailed mechanical designs
• Liaising with external suppliers to manage the design and supply process
• Conducting design reviews and optimising designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
• Supporting the full lifecycle of product development, from concept through to UK-based manufacture
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Job Requirements:

• Experience in a mechanical design environment
• Proven experience with large, complex fabricated metal enclosures and mechanical assemblies
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Degree-level education or equivalent technical qualifications/experience
• Understanding of mouldings, including plastics, die cast, and extrusions (preferred)
• Experience liaising with external suppliers as part of the design/supply process (preferred)
• Familiarity with design, development, and UK-based manufacture (preferred)
