Job description
Our client, a major player in the automotive industry, is seeking a Facilities Engineer on a contract basis.
This role involves delivering world-class facility solutions through product implementation programmes, technology innovation, and legacy facility improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess feasibility of new facilities and processes, managing projects for cost, quality, and timing
- Support facilities by providing required capability and capacity aligned to programme milestones and production requirements
- Complete feasibility and cost evaluations for proposed new or modified facilities and processes
- Develop robust engineering and lean layout solutions for facility project delivery or operational efficiency improvements
- Manage, maintain, and develop Health, Safety, and Operational Risk Management processes
- Contribute to Environmental Innovation and Reporting compliance.
- Co-ordinate support and input of relevant stakeholders to achieve successful handover of new or modified facilities.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and other Engineering disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering support for problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
- Manage facility documentation in line with Manufacturing Engineering procedures, supporting internal and external audits
- Lead and partake in multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases
- Track project-based KPIs and report to the departmental manager on a weekly basis
- Undertake any other work as directed by the line manager
Job Requirements:

- Experienced in Facilities Development and Engineering with a background in process conveyor technologies
- Understanding of reliability and maintainability principles and the environmental impacts of engineering solutions
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Skill in managing suppliers and project budgets
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including after hours, weekends, and shutdown periods
- Experience in delivering Facilities Management solutions across various industries and geographies
- Strong contract and performance management experience
- Good working knowledge of CDM regulations
- Experience in Supplier selection and tender management
- Understanding of electrical control systems within automated and conveyor equipment
